Thunder
roared loudly from above, sounding like a deep manly voice, words spoken “So it shall be in My Name”, and
seconds later a bolt of lightning struck, and from that moment on a tiny piece
of charcoal come into existence.
Neatly
nested away in the mantle of creation, this tiny piece of charcoal waited,
waited to transform into a mighty gem, one that was unalterable, unbreakable
and over powering. A stone so mighty that one day it would be untameable,
instead it would proclaim ‘’I Tame’’.
Extreme
pressure rose up from the all-around the tiny piece of charcoal, and he became
scared. Another roar of thunder from above shaking the skies while a strong
mighty hand came and wrapped around the tiny piece of charcoal. This tiny piece
of charcoal heard His creator speak deep within Him, with a soothing voice. ‘’Do
not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your
God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help, Surely I will uphold you with
My righteous right hand.’’ Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
This brought
peace to the tiny piece of charcoal, so he snuggled up tightly in His Creator’s
hand. The extreme pressure still remaining around the tiny piece of charcoal
was not actually unbearable to him anymore.
Just a distant, faint feeling of emotion from outside the protective
covering of his Creator.
As time
passed, the pressure came and went, while the little piece of charcoal grew.
Not so tiny anymore, but within his Creators hand he remained still, neatly
tucked away and protected.
A fire so
fierce began to gather, it consumed everything in its wake, leaving nothing but
grey ash and smouldering coals, burning out slowly.
Fear sprouted
up inside the piece of charcoal, and he began to doubt his Creators protective
covering could withhold the pain and misery that was swelling up outside. As he
began to doubt, so did the heat begin to scorch the edges of his rim, creating
sparks, however just as quickly these sparks would ignite so would they die.
Thunder was
rumbling in the distance, while a war raged beneath, fire like molten lava
covered the ground below were the piece of coal lay, pressure so dense that it
crushed everything that remained untouched by the fire.
Lightning
struck over and over and over, lightning up the core of the charcoal, until he
could hear the thunder from the distance right above him again.
His creator
was trying to get his attention, the thunder spoke words with strong authority
this time, ‘’Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of
them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake
you.’’ Deuteronomy 31:16 NKJV
As the piece
of charcoal absorbed each word into his core, he began to believe again, in the
mighty hand of the Creator. He snuggled up deeper this time though and held
onto each word. He repeated the words over and over and slowly the pain and
misery outside was drowned out by the worship for his Creator.
Time went by
for the charcoal and to him it felt like a life time, but it was just the
beginning.
This time
when he heard the thunder roar above him, he felt shaking below him. The ground
was shifting like an earthquake. The ground on which he lay started moving and
pushing him and he wondered where his Creators hand went. His world was
changing and he didn’t understand why.
Then he saw
a blinding light all around him, a spectrum of colours reflecting from every
angle he looked.
He felt
fresh water wash over him and cleanse his edges, as the dirt around him was
being sifted away below. That’s when he saw that he was still in his Creators
hands, however his Creators hands was his sifter, shuffling his life around
removing the dirt.
He looked up
and asked his Creator, ‘’Why are you removing the dirt from me and around me?’’
This time
came a sound of a shofar, and riding on the vibrations were the words “I have
taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.’’
Zachariah 3:4 NKJV ‘’I want to see you my child, I want to see what I have
created!’’
So he looked
at himself to see what his Creator saw and noticed that he was no longer a
piece of charcoal, he was a rough shaped diamond, he was not transparent and
shiny, and he weighed a little more, but he was no longer light in weight and
coloured the black of night.
His Creator
started polishing the sides of his diamond with grace, humming to Himself,
pleased with what He saw. And while he watched, his Creator continued working
on his edges, shaping him and polishing him up, he asked his Creator, ‘’How was
it that I became a precious diamond stone from a tiny piece of charcoal?’’
From the
vibrations of the shofar, he heard his Creator proclaim with a deep symbol. ‘’The
one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not
believe will be condemned.’’ Mark 16:16. NKJV ‘’Because you believed in Me my
child, I was with you the whole time when the enemy was attacking you, because
you believed in Me my child, I carried you in My hand protecting you. I allowed
you to see the pain and suffering arrows the enemy was shooting at you, but I
stopped them so that would not feel the pain. I used this pressure and heat to
shape you into the precious diamond you are today.”
The diamond started
to radiate light, and when he looked down he was transparent, a neatly shaped
diamond with many smooth and polished edges. He was unalterable, unbreakable and over powering.
From the vibrations
of the shofar he heard, ‘’And He said to them, ‘’Go into all the world and
preach the gospel to every creature.’’ Mark 16:15 NKJV ‘’Before I formed you in
the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have
appointed you a prophet to the nations.’’ Jeramiah 1:5 NKJV ‘’As in water face
reflects face, So the heart of man reflects man.’’ Proverbs 27:19 NKJV ‘’And
we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being
transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord,
who is the Spirit.’’ 2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
The diamond
knew at that moment, that he was cut and polished specifically like no other so
that each cut in his diamond would reflect his Creators Word. He also knew that
his Creator made him into a diamond, because the diamond is the strongest stone
the Creator made, untouchable by any damage the enemy would like to inflect. ‘’No
weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against
you in judgement, You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of
the Lord, And their righteousness is from me,’’ Says the Lord’’. Isaiah 54:17
NKJV
So the
diamond began to shine and reflect his Creators light amongst the other tiny
pieces of charcoal around him.
The End
